The Singapore Government has announced new measures which are labeled “Circuit Breaker”. The new measures are stringent – closure of schools & workplaces, enforcement of 100% work from home policy.
This spells of dark days ahead for most businesses. Dining establishments are not allowed to have dining-in and are expected to survive with just takeout service.
The Singapore Government is kind and often gives a lead time before measures are in place. This has happened for travel restrictions, Stay Home Orders and other measures. They generally give a lead time of a week.
Singaporeans are always creative. During this lead time, Singaporeans seem to think that the COVID19 takes a holiday and will not infect people until the “Circuit Breaker” measures kick in.

Singapore faced a sharp rise as over 60 new infected cases arose from foreign worker dormitories in Punggol and Toh Guan. About 20,000 foreign workers are quarantined due to these clusters.
These dormitories are declared isolation zones. Proper distancing and isolation measures are yet to be seen at these locations.
