There are 675 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore as of Wednesday noon (May 13), with most of the new patients being migrant workers living in dormitories.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily update that the new cases comprise two Singaporeans, two work pass holders, and 671 migrant workers linked to dorms.
This takes the country’s total count to 25,346.
Another 958 patients were also discharged from hospitals and community facilities, the highest to date, and 4,800 have so far fully recovered from the coronavirus.
The ministry announced six new clusters: at 3 Kian Teck Crescent, 119 Neythal Road, 1 Sungei Kadut Street 4, 1020 Tai Seng Avenue, 17C Tuas Road, and 29 Tuas View Walk 2.
With about three weeks left till Singapore’s circuit breaker measures are expected to ease on June 1, MOH data showed that the daily average of new cases among Singaporeans, permanent residents and long-term pass holders continued to fall from eight two weeks ago to six in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases among these have also come down from three to two over the same period.
Among the new cases, 99 per cent were linked.
To date, 21 have died from complications due to Covid-19 here, while nine have died from other causes while testing positive.
