Robertson Quay was reported to have a gathering of people during Circuit Breaker period and a post on social media showed how enforcement was lacking at that area. Days later, people aren’t wearing masks at Robertson Quay. URA responded quickly and the Singapore Police are also investigating the individuals who are flouting CB measures.
On 20th May 2020, Facebook user 招積 shared a post which has garnered 83K views so far.
Here’s the post:
“These two (2) policemen and two (2) social distancing ambassadors just told me these people are merely ‘brisk walking’ #facepalm.
Do they know brisk walking speed reads as 5km+/h?
Well, just have to discharge my civic duty; I walk up to them, politely request they don their mask. They compiled.
Is it so hard policemen and ambassadors? I’m a Singaporean, my country is skewed by Covid-19 pandemic and immeasurable efforts had been put forth to arrest its spread. As civil servants and enforcers, please kindly discharge your sworn duties, uphold our laws and take infractors to task.
If your presences are for appearance sake, I reckon cardboards would suffice Sirs.

User posts clarification
The Facebook user has also posted a clarification on why he took the video or responded sternly to a certain British man who wasn’t wearing a mask.
“#Clarification:
I am my usual self carrying out my daily exercise routine. In preparation for my fourth iron-man when lockdown ceases as opposed to the belief I was on a witch hunt.
With respect to the British man who rudely uttered “Fxxx Off”, I’d ask him twice before turning around to firmly but politely request he don his mask. Upon complying he shouted “Fxxx Singapore” though it is barely audible.
In consideration thereof I reckon his complying does not warrant a “Thank you” from me.
Thank you.”

A case of AMDK or lack of enforcement?
Circuit Breaker has been in force for quite some time, it’s really hard to accept that there are still people who don’t know what are the regulations & blatantly flout them.
If they are foreigners and English is not their first language, I’m sure all kind hearted Singaporeans who clapped for front-line workers can understand.
If they are expats, it is more likely that they are blatantly ignoring the rules unless they are not working in a professional workplace where organizations are sure to “pump down” information in bite sized formats which are easy to digest.
But who knows?
They may be backpackers or begpackers. We don’t really know and aren’t pointing any fingers.
